CHRIS WALTER RESIGNS AS UW-P WRESTLING COACH

UW-Platteville needs a new wrestling

coach after Chris Walter announced

his resignation on Friday (4/25).

Walter has been the wrestling coach

at UW-Platteville since 1997.

The Pioneers posted 117 dual meet wins

during that time, with 48 of those in the

WIAC. He coached 31 national qualifiers

and nine All-Americans while he was

head coach. Walter is a graduate of the

University of Wisconsin, and was a

four-year letter winner for the Badgers

as a wrestler. He was the team captain

in 1995. He qualified twice for the

Division-1 Nationals

The Pioneers were 1-and-4 in conference

dual meets this past season, 4-and-9

overall. UW-Platteville finished fifth,

fourth and sixth respectively over the last

three seasons at the WIAC Wrestling

Championships.
